Jonathan Michael Lepperd stabbed his girlfriend at a home in the 4100 block of Enola Road in Upper Frankford Township 8:10 a.m., that morning, according to the release.

PSP Carlisle was called to the scene for the "domestic-related stabbing" as stated in the release.

The woman suffered "severe injuries" and was flown from the scene to a hospital, State Police said.

Within the hour, Lepperd was located but led the police on a pursuit. For an unknown reason he stopped his vehicle in the 100 block of Creed Road in West Pennsboro Township. A foot chase then occurred, but he was quickly taken into police custody, according to the release.

Creek Road was briefly closed during the incident and investigation but it reopened as of 10:45 a.m.

There is an active investigation taking place and charges against Lepperd "are forthcoming," State Police concluded.
